Worship

In worship we celebrate the great things that God has done, especially in the person of Jesus Christ. Worship is celebration. Celebration of God’s Kingdom, celebration of God’s love for us (and our love in return), celebration of God’s peace and of God’s transforming power.

In worship we offer our thankfulness and our joy and our hope.

We at Wigston Magna Methodist Church do this in traditional worship, through contemporary worship, or in family worship. The style may be different, but the focus remains God centred.

We have 2 Sunday Services taking place at 10.30am and 6.00pm both offering different styles of worship led by ordained ministers, local and invited preachers, with contributions from our own Worship Leaders.

With a committed membership of over 200 (and a larger circle of friends) you can be part of a large gathering of Christians, but there is also space for quiet, prayerful and reflective worship.

There is an additional service on the 1st Wednesday of each month at 11am, usually led by our minister.

The flexibility of the worship area allows different forms of worship from relaxed café style to the more traditional forms of Methodist worship.

Wigston Magna Methodist Church is renowned for its singing, led by the choir. We use the Methodist hymnbook ‘Singing The Faith’,and PowerPoint projected words for new songs, with music provided by the organ, a small music group and backing tracks.

Each Sunday morning there is a crèche and a Junior Church for 3yr olds and upward.

The Evening Service, with smaller numbers, is a time for teaching and quiet reflection; but is also used for experimental and themed services over a number of weeks.
